  • Designed and assisted in the development of air suspension systems for the heavy and light truck/trailer industry.  This included: engineering design, analysis, testing, engineering department management, manufacturing fixture design, project management, purchasing, and quality assurance.


January 1991 to January 2001 – Hendrickson Trailer Suspension Systems, Canton, Ohio

Manager of Analysis and Engineering Support

  • Designed and supported the development of air suspensions for the heavy truck/trailer industry including: brake and spindle forgings, axle tubing, fabrications, and bushings.  Have extensive experience in stress and fatigue life prediction, in part, through the use of the ANSYS finite element analysis program.  Have experience in vehicle dynamics and stability concerns of truck/trailers. Managed and supervised the analytical and metallurgical personnel.  Authored and led the development of various test and ISO procedures.  Reviewed and processed patent applications that were prepared by the patent attorney.


January 1989 to January 1991 – Teledyne Monarch Rubber, Hartville, Ohio

Product Engineer

  • Designed rubber-to-metal bonded suspension components for the automotive industry.  Responsible for the Ford and BOC engine mount programs, requiring engineering involvement with:  research and development, ISIR submission, quality assurance issues, cost estimation, and production-related issues.  This required extensive interaction with:  purchasing, sales, suppliers, lab technicians, and customers.


August 1988 to January 1989 – The Johnson Rubber Company, Middlefield, Ohio

Product Engineer

  • Designed and implemented improvements for the extruded rubber products.  Implemented quality control testing improvements that included: writing procedures, equipment improvements, and calibrating instruments.
